Get Along Gang

I should have added these photos earlier in the week. Mom fussed at me for posting one on facebook and not sending HER a copy :) I didn't realize it had been a whole month since something was posted here. I'll have to make it more of a habit. Hank and Maggie are doing and saying stuff all the time that I try to remember for later. That was kinda the whole point of this blog, so I'm foolish for not just quickly posting stuff here and there as it comes along.

Anyway, I'll add a few photos now of them being all sweet to each other after I had spent all morning refereeing their arguments. Seriously, it had been bad. But then out of the blue Maggie made a chair and asked Hank to join her and it was all adorable.
Proof that they DO get along!

Then this morning they were being all sweet to our three backyard stray kitties. Skinny Pete (the friendliest of the three) was discovered to be a girl, so when Maggie mispronounced her name as Skinny Peep we decided that was more fitting. Then Poochie and Pierre Thomas are there in the background somewhere. I still can't tell those two apart.

Crazy Kid Quotes

We just tucked the kids in for bed after watching a Sesame Street episode which was all about the letter "L". We pointed out to Maggie that she was going to sleep with a couple of "L" items and started listing "Lizzie" and "Lamb" and then Maggie fell right in with "and Elephant". So adorable. Then she requested her brown Llama to join them in the bed. As James was leaving he heard her tell her llama, "You are the Llama Labs of Energy".

That girl is full of crazy sayings these days.

Yesterday morning the kids were trying to convince me to sing with me protesting that I wasn't good at singing and preferred not to. Hank was encouraging me with "Come on, Mom. Do it now while Daddy isn't here to call you names!" So Maggie followed up with "Like 'Space Mamma?'" which is totally a name that Daddy would call me on a daily basis.

Such silly goofballs :)

A place to swing!

After keeping our old porch swing in the shed for three years, I finally got around to building a frame for it. Thankfully I was able to borrow our neighbor's miter saw to get it just like I wanted (or pretty close anyway). The kids loved it! This is actually the first time Maggie has gotten to swing on it. She wasn't even born yet when we moved to this house. Crazy!

"Mama take a picture of me and my crazy foot" ~Maggie (see her pointing her toe all crazy?)

"I made a picture of my foot" ~Maggie
 Crazy barefoot dancing

 Cool guy pose!
Really dirty feet (and everything else)

Hank drew this while I was working on building the frame. It's a picture of us and my hair is blowing out behind me because we're swinging. Awww!

Big kid bed

Looks like I need to get some more masculine sheets. Without much ado Hank just transitioned into a full size adult bed from his toddler bed this evening. He was happy and excited about it. Maggie pitched a full on fit because she wanted to sleep in the big bed with him. It was all sweet but we knew it would never work and we didn't want to ruin Hank's big milestone. What a seriously big kid!

Success... he's sound asleep.
