On the way to her FIRST day of Pre-School!

 Maggie and I had a BUSY day yesterday! We started out with Preschool orientation, then got Maggie her very first haircut, then ended with a checkup with Dr. Hinrichsen. She's excited about school and is happy to have Hank's same teacher, Mrs. Gamble. She did GREAT at her haircut (and so did I!) and smiled the whole time. James was a bit wary that I would make her have short hair, but it's still way long. Then the eye doctor said she's seeing MUCH better out of this new prescription. Oh and we ran errands all over town and got to eat lunch with James in the middle of all of it. Hope she's having a good day. I know I'm getting tons accomplished with both kids in school!

Hank's back to school questionnaire

So this is a lot of reading, but I thought it would be cool to have for Hank one day when he's older. His Gateway teacher had us fill out these forms to get to know him and how he learns, etc.

After reading back over these I realized he sounds pretty darn good on paper. Of course I am the one who wrote these, so I'm more than a tad biased. There is just no telling what he might become. I really can see him doing well in lots of different areas and in different career paths. What will he choose? What will inspire him? What will be his passion? It will be interesting to see how the rest of his school career unfolds.

Crazy/Smart

Within about a 3 minute time span last night Hank recalled specific details from Maggie's doctors appointment two weeks ago... "You could give her honey" he suggested when she asked for cough syrup... then discovered he had forgotten to put on his underwear after bath. How can he be SO smart and SO clueless all at the same time?!?!

Hank was all about it -- no fear or sadness whatsoever. As Maggie and I were walking toward the cafeteria for the parents "Boo Hoo" breakfast, she got all pitiful and said "But Hankey is my FRIEND" all sad and sweet like she was going to miss him. They've played really well together for the past couple of weeks. I think she really will miss him today. But don't worry, 2:35 will be here before we know it :)

Four Years in Photos...

We took a photo the first weekend we moved into our house -- August of 2009. Now enjoy a photo each August, including one we took TODAY! Measured the kids this morning and they each grew 1.25" since their birthdays in February. Wow! That's pretty impressive growth. Little cuties :)
