Insect accessory

Hank came up with that all on his own! He strung these bugs together, made a circle, wore it as a necklace and called it his insect accessory. Thank you Sesame Street for the fantastic vocabulary!

Big-Kid Milestones

Yesterday someone flipped the switch and now Maggie's main mode of transportation is WALKING! For a few weeks now, she's been taking several steps, and even wandering around a little without lunging for the safety of the nearest chair or table. But yesterday she walked all day! And she's fast! I kept losing her without even realizing she was on the move. She also started picking up any kind of bag, throwing it behind her shoulder and walking away while waving. She's got her bag and is ready to go!

Then last night after bath Hank asked me

"What time is it?" I answered 8:00.

"What time is bedtime?" 8:30

"What time is 8:30?" Thirty minutes away.

That's the first time he's shown a pretty good understanding of how time works. Amazing!

I couldn't be prouder of both of them :)

Cool kids

Laundry help

This is Maggie's idea of "helping" me with the laundry. She climbed in there all by herself! Then cried when I took her out.

Basket Maggie

Maggie just worked very hard to take this basket off the shelf and situate herself just right in there. She immediately pulled the bow out of her hair after I took these.

Love it!

Phone call

Hank's pretend phone call just now went like this "Hello? I want a hamburger."

Do you think we might call in supper orders too often? Ha!

Not my turn

I almost forgot! Right when they were finishing up giving Maggie her 3 separate immunization shots Hank kind of worriedly declared "It's not my turn now." Poor fella! He thought he was next. Luckily he gets to wait until he turns 4 to get his next round of shots.

1 and 3 year checkups

Maggie weighed in at 22lbs 11oz and 30 inches long. Hank weighed 38lbs and I didn't catch his height but Dr. Cush-John told me he was in the 97th percentile for height, 90th for weight, and Maggie was at 75th percentile all around. She confirmed that Hank could easily pass as a 4 year old since he's grown so much. And as usual, they were both declared perfect. Maggie is good to switch to whole milk too, so no more formula. Hooray for a healthy well visit!
