I just called for Hank to come get his breakfast and he hollered "Just a minute! I have to open the door first!". I quickly told him no and to get in here right now and he replied back "No! Don't make me repeat it!"

Such attitude already!

Peanut butter cup

James emptied the bag of peanut butter cups into our snack bowl and not 3 full minutes later I caught Hank chocolate-handed. He had removed the foil wrapper but didn't know about the brown paper underneath. He said "I bite it... It's good!" Although I know it was wrong I let him eat it anyway. James declared the paternity test to be definitive--any kid that keen on peanut butter cups must be his. Between that and all the potty-training candy he was REALLY hyper last night.

Learning curve

I feel like an old lady. I'm having a harder time figuring out how to manage a blog than I thought I would. Making progress today, though. I found an app for blogging from my iPhone. This is a test to see if it will email out updates properly.

Who, me?

A couple of Sundays ago Gabe, Soren and Caya came over to eat some Johnny's pizza and watch some world cup soccer. The girls like to slide down our psychiatrist's couch and Hank quickly followed suit. James checked in on him by asking "Hank, are you being careful?" Hank replied with absolute certainty and pure glee "NOOO!"

Okay that last post was sent by text message. Turns out there's a character limit. Now I know.
( Hank has only had ONE wet diaper today (besides the overnight diaper). All other tee tee has gone in the potty! He's on a little bit of a candy rush, but
( we're all proud :)

Woody and Buzz

Up until yesterday, these two have served as Hank's Woody and Buzz -- from the original Toy Story. That's Woody on the left, if you can't tell. They're actually little bendable characters from Avery's birthday party goody bag (thanks to Aunt Z for saving us a couple of favor bags!). He has four cowboys total like this, all different colors, but these two specifically are Woody and Buzz. He's been watching a LOT of Toy Story I, and got to go with Ms. Chris to the theater to see Toy Story III, where he was apparently a perfect angel and sat still through the whole movie. Amazing.

Well, I had to pick up a kid's birthday present in the toy department of Target yesterday, so while I was there I snuck at peek at the humongous Toy Story III display they had out and found a REAL Woody doll. The package claimed it was "life-size" although James pointed out that it would be hard to measure life-size from a cartoon, but whatever. It had a working pull string and everything. Soooo neat. I was soooo excited. Until I looked at the price tag: $45.00. Seriously!!!??? $45.00???!!! I couldn't bring myself to buy it. We just don't buy Hank toys unless there's a holiday to warrant it, and I wouldn't have paid $45.00 for that even if it was Super Christmas. So I settled for a neat little set of smaller plastic Woody AND Buzz.

We gave them to him last night after bath and he seemed really happy to play with them. But the more I watched him try the pull string, attempt to open & close Buzz's helmet, and add a flattened slap bracelet to Buzz to serve as wings (also a prize from the aforementioned goody bag) I got more and more disappointed. They're just molded plastic. Only their arms and legs moved. It kinda broke my heart. WHY did that real Woody have to be so expensive! I was still glad I didn't buy it, but it would have been SO cool! Then after a few minutes, just out of nowhere, without looking up from playing, Hank said "thank you Mama!" all cute and serious. Awwww. He totally loved them. He cuddled with them during milk time, then after he kissed me good night he held up each one so I could kiss them good night, then he slept with them all night long.

This morning he stumbled out of bed carrying both Woody and Buzz and his Curious George doll. And again told me "thank you Mama" as I was changing him out of his PJ's. So, so sweet.

Hello Blog, nice to meet you

Life has been in super-drive since Maggie was born. Every day seems to zip by with lightning speed. I keep meaning to start Maggie a baby book, but who am I kidding? I haven't even been updating Hank's baby book. So, here's my attempt to collect all of the cute things they do, and all of the milestones I deem important enough to record. After all, it's pretty much common knowledge that I have the cutest, smartest kids that ever existed. So be forewarned that this will mostly be all of the little tidbits I want to hold onto. Only *follow* this if that interests you.

Here's a quick sampling of what's happening lately...

A couple of weeks ago Hank spotted a sucker on James's dresser one morning and asked to have it. I stalled him by telling him he could have it when his Daddy got home. He wasn't really happy with it, but said ok and wandered off down the hall. He came back a few minutes later wearing James's hat and telling himself he could have the sucker right now. Ever since then if he wears my shoes, Granna's bracelet, etc. he IS that person and imitates what they say or how they act.

SOOOO adorable, right?

Maggie has perfected rolling over in BOTH directions this week! Huge milestone and so cute to see her try so hard. She's also really determined to scoot or army crawl, but just can't make it happen yet and gets SO frustrated that it won't work right. She's also super happy about hanging out in a walker and loves to keep an eye on what Hank is doing.
That's all for now. Hope to add much more in the future!
