Hang on to your hat

We took a walk after lunch and when we were almost back home Hank remarked that it was pretty windy outside. I agreed and when I looked down at him I couldn't help but laugh--he had his hand on his head like he was holding his hair down. I explained that his hair wouldn't blow away. He didn't have to hold his hair. "No, Mama, I'm holding my hat down" he corrected me.

"But you're not wearing a hat" I pointed out.

"I have a PRETEND hat!" he exclaimed. And then he continued to hold his pretend hat on until we were safely indoors. He was really concerned about losing it!
